A: Hallo good morning Yusuf speaking, who is calling, please?

B: This is clara from Nusa company, are you Yusuf antono?

A: Yes, I am Yusuf antono

B: Tomorrow you have to come to our office for interview, are you ready?

A: Ok, I am ready thank you very much madam

B: You are welcome

Conversation for interview in the office of Nusa Company

A: APPLICANT B: INTERVIEWER

A: Good morning, sir

B: Good morning, Come in and sit down, please !

A: Thank you very much, sir

B: What is your name?

A: My name is Yusuf, my full name is Yusuf antono

B: Are you married?

A: No, I am not married I am still single

B: Ok, tell me about yourself?

A: I was born and raised in yogyakarta, I attended the University of Gajah mada and received my master’s degree in economics, I have worked for various companies including Moreno consultants, Quasar insurance and sardi and sons. I enjoy playing tennis in my free time and learning languages.

B: What type of position are you looking for?

A: I would like any position for which I qualify.

B: Are you interested in a full-time or part-time position?

A: I am more interested in a full-time position. However, I would also consider a part- time position.

B: Can you tell me about your responsibilities at your last job?

A: I advised customer on financial matters, after I consulted the customer, I completed a customer inquiry form and catalogued the information in our database, I then collaborated with colleagues to prepare the best possible package for the client, the clients were then presented with a summarized report on their financial activities that I formulated on a quarterly basis.

B: What is your greatest strength?

A: I work well under pressure, when there is a deadline, I can focus on the task at hand and structure my work schedule well, I remember one week when I had to get six news customers reports out by Friday at 05.00 pm, I finished all the reports ahead of time without having to work overtime.

B: What is your greatest weakness?

A: I work too hard and become nervous when my co-workers are not pulling their weight (doing their job). However, I am aware of this problem, and before I say anything to anyone, I ask myself why the colleague is having difficulties.

B: why do you want to work for Nusa Company?

A: After following your company progress for the last three years, I am convinced that Nusa Company becoming one of the market leaders and I would like to be part of the team.

B: When can you begin to work?

A: As soon as you would like me to begin.

B: What types of people do you find hard to get along with?

A: I have a discussion with my colleague the other day, he told me that I am too impatient with slow performers. He mentioned that the world is full of ordinary people and I cannot expect to everyone to be great performers. So I guess I do have trouble with poor subordinate, I do not expect myself to ever accept poor work but I am learning to patient and make use of the strength that a person possesses.

B: How do you handle a conflict situation that occurs in your work place?

A: I usually work thing out with other people before a conflict occurs, but in situation where conflict cannot be avoided I will confront them immediately with reasons and explanations to clear the conflict.

B: You seem to have little experience with sales and marketing. How do you intend to learn up the knowledge you need to perform well in this job?

A: Well, throughout my career I have meet many changes and proven to be able to adapt to them quickly, for example, when my company computerized its inventory system, I did not have the time to go through the training session, since the software came with a user manual and computer base tutorials, I took the initiative to study and practice at home which enable me to master it, I hoe I would able to do the same to pick up the rudiments of your budgeting system.

B: How do you handle challenges?

A: During a difficult financial period, I was able to satisfactorily negotiate repayment schedules with multiple vendors.

B: How do you handle stress/pressure?

A: I react to situations, rather than to stress, that way the situation is handled and does not become stressful.

B: What are your goals for the future?

A: My long time goals involve growing with a company where I can continue to learn, take on additional responsibilities, and contribute as much of value as I can

B: How will you achieve your goals?

A: I plan on gaining additional skills by taking related training and continuing my involvement with a variety of professional associates

B: Is there anything else about you I should know?

A: I think we have covered everything, but I would like to take opportunity to reemphasize the key strengths that I would bring the position.

The first management skills, I run a department almost the same size as this one, I have been able to manage very well the change through out my career thus I will be able to perform well if your company decides to offer me the position, and the secondly Enthusiasm, I am very excited about the prospect of working here, when do you expect to make a decision?

B: How much do you expect your salary per month?

A: It’s up to the company.

B: Ok, you start working tomorrow as assistant of sales and marketing manager
